A whirlwind adventure through European gems by rail and sea, with a Bernina Express train trip and a Mediterranean cruise - including travel and deposit options

Europe has a face of changing landscapes, from wild mountains overrun with dense pine trees to golden sandy shores and sparkling seas. On this 11-night adventure, you'll spend your time hopping from country to country before finishing on a spectacular Mediterranean cruise, seeing the best and the sunniest Europe has to offer.
Landing in Switzerland's largest city, Zurich, you'll hop on a local train alongside Lake Zurich to Switzerland's oldest town, Chur. You'll step off the platform almost directly into Hotel ABC to enjoy a stay in this boutique, modern setting. During your time here, why not consider going for a day's hike, exploring the Old Town, or pick up a new timepiece at one of the many watch shops.
After a couple of nights, you'll take to the railroad once again, but this time on Switzerland’s highest railway, the famed Bernina Express. You'll wind your way through villages, make a steep ascent above the Alpine treeline amidst dramatic glaciers, and voyage past the many castles of Switzerland’s Domleschg Valley, all en route to Tirano in Northern Italy. With oversized panoramic windows and an emphasis on scenery rather than speed, the Bernina Express makes for a leisurely and stunningly memorable four-hour train ride.
It's then onwards again to Milan, one of the most fashionable cities in the world. A paradise for shoppers and foodies alike, make the most of Milan’s many delights with a stay at the polished Antares Hotel Accademia. The chic city's world-renowned designer boutiques aren't far away, with Piazza Portello shopping centre temptingly located opposite, and the hotel's handy shuttle service whisks you around the corner to the nearest metro station.
After one night in Genoa, you'll embark the MSC Fantasia for a seven-night Mediterranean cruise. Your first port of call is Marseille, with its fusion of historic and contemporary architecture, before Palma - Mallorca's captivating capital. It's on to the sun-soaked island of Ibiza next, before two of Italy's icons: Naples and Livorno. With some time at leisure in each of these places, you can explore on shore at your own pace, before returning back to Genoa to catch your flight home.

Hotel ABC lies adjacent to the Chur train station, where you will pull into after your thrilling Bernina Express journey from Italy. This modern and stylishly designed boutique hotel welcomes you with many mod-cons, as well as its own spa-lounge to unwind in after your adventure. You can also enjoy complimentary evening access to the sauna and steam room. In the hotel's convenient yet peaceful location, you are well placed to explore Chur - Switzerland's oldest town.
