Rajasthan, the land of kings and warriors, is India at its colourful best with its palaces of breathtaking grandeur and battle scarred forts. From the impregnable forts of Marwar and Amer to the delicate frescoed havelis of Shekhavati and the desert city of Jaisalmer, the jewels of India are here in this diverse and dramatic region. Following a tour of the sites of imperial Delhi, travel through the heart of the historic state of Rajasthan, discovering its culture and traditions and exploring the romance of a bygone era and the astounding Taj Mahal in Agra.

Day 1. Delhi
Arrive in the historic city of Delhi. Transfer to the hotel for 2 nights.
Day 2. Delhi
Enjoy a guided tour of Old Delhi and New Delhi which includes drive past the Red Fort, a visit to Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in Asia, walk through the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk and Raj Ghat, the simple but moving memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. Later, drive past the imposing India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan (the President’s residence) and enjoy a visit to the 14th century step well Agrasen-ki-Baoli in the heart of Delhi. End the tour with a visit to Qutab Minar, a masterpiece of perfect proportions, and the garden tomb of Emperor Humayun.
Day 3. Mandawa
Drive to the fabulous Shekhawati region which is also known as the open air art gallery of Rajasthan (245 Kms / 06-07 Hours). Transfer to your hotel in Mandawa for 1 night. Later today, explore the beautiful havelis, painted predominantly in vibrant colours, have beautiful wall paintings that adorn their walls in this semi-desert region.
Day 4. Bikaner
Drive to Bikaner (190 Kms / 04 -05 Hours). Upon arrival transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. Afternoon enjoy sightseeing tour of Junagarh Fort. Built in 1588 by Raja Rai Singh, this renowned fort is unusually not built on a hilltop. Later, taste a local savoury in the snack capital of India.
Day 5. Jaisalmer
Drive to the golden city of Jaisalmer (310 Kms / 07 -08 Hours) and transfer to hotel for 2 nights.
Day 6. Jaisalmer
Explore one of the largest forts of the world – the Jaisalmer Fort. The majestic fort’s yellow sandstone walls are a tawny lion colour during the day and turn to a magical honey-gold during the sunset against the picturesque yellow desert. During your tour visit the Gadisagar Lake – a rainwater reservoir built in 1367; the delightful Folklore Museum and the famous Nathwon and Patwon ki Havelis. Later in the afternoon, drive to the outskirts to view the sunset on the picturesque sand dunes and enjoy a Camel ride.
Day 7. Jodhpur
Drive to the blue city of Jodhpur (290 Kms / 07-08 Hours). Upon arrival transfer to hotel for an overnight stay. Late afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of Jodhpur, which includes a visit to the majestic Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada. The 5-kilometre long majestic Mehrangarh Fort is set on a 125-metre high hill and is one of the most impressive and formidable structures. Continue to Jaswant Thada which is located a short distance from the fort and is a white marble memorial to Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Later today, enjoy a turban or saree demonstration.
Day 8. Udaipur via Ranakpur
Drive to the romantic city of Udaipur en-route visiting the beautiful Jain Temples at Ranakpur (260 Kms / 06-07 Hours). On arrival in Udaipur, check into your hotel for 2 nights stay.
Day 9. Udaipur
Enjoy a half day excursion of the Nagda and Eklingji Temples. Nagda temple comprises of a majestic pair of 11th century temple of Saas-Bahu, literally, ‘Mother and Daughter-in-law Temples’ dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Continue to Eklingji, which is a complex of 108 temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Later, enjoy city tour of Udaipur, which includes a visit to the City Palace – with a fortress-like façade, topped by a plethora of graceful balconies; it has been justly described as a massive plain cake topped with fabulous icing, and Saheliyon-ki-Bari (Garden of the maids of honour). Also, walk through the old city and learn about the miniature art this region is known for.
Day 10. Jaipur
Drive to the royal city of Jaipur. On arrival in the city, check into your hotel for 2 nights stay.
Day 11. Jaipur
Proceed for a guided tour of the fabulous hill top citadel Amber Fort, en route taking a photo-stop at Hawa Mahal, a five-storied wonder with a spectacular pyramidal facade. Located at the top of a hill, Amber Fort offers spectacular view of the old town below, where Akbar stopped en route on his annual pilgrimage to Ajmer. Continue to Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing, to observe the consuming and exhausting method of hand-block printing in entirety, from carving of wooden blocks to transformation of raw fabric into a piece of art. Afternoon enjoy city tour of the royal city of Jaipur. The highlights of the tour include a visit to the City Palace Museum, which has a superb collection of Rajasthani costumes and armoury of Mughals and Rajputs; the awe-inspiring Jantar Mantar Observatory, a stone astrological and astronomical Observatory and the colourful bazaars. You may want to walk around the colourful bazaars and enjoy a traditional sweet at a renowned sweetshop.
Day 12. Agra via Fatehpur Sikri
Drive to Agra (240 Kms / 06-07 Hours), en route visiting Fatehpur Sikri – the beautiful deserted capital of Emperor Akbar. On arrival in Agra, check into your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 13. Delhi
In the morning, enjoy visit to the world renowned Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO, the Taj Mahal has always evoked varying emotions from wonder to ecstasy and often times & visit Agra Fort, an outstanding example of Mughal architecture and the seat and stronghold of the Mughal Empire under successive generations. Later, proceed on a drive to Delhi (204 Kms / 04 -05 Hours). On arrival in Delhi check into your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 14. Depart Delhi
On time transfer to the New Delhi airport for onward journey.
